Who we are
The Inuit Community Development and Education Foundation (ICDEF) was formed as a result of an increased need to provide opportunities for the growing and dynamic community of urban Inuit living outside Inuit Nunagat to gather, engage, learn, practice, share and display their culture.
Our Goal
Our goal is to provide social, educational, cultural, recreational and community-based programming for Inuit in Alberta to build community, develop a sense of belonging and feel a home connection.
Our Vision
The Inuit Community Development and Education Foundation vision is to build, support, strengthen, develop and increase the health and wellbeing and enhance the knowledge & skills of the Inuit who live outside of Inuit Nunangat.
Our Mission
The Inuit Community Development and Education Foundation is dedicated to reclaiming, revitalizing, developing, implementing, supporting and enhancing Inuit-specific educational and cultural programming and services that empower and enhance the lives of Inuit living in Alberta
Our Community
The Inuit Community Development and Education Foundation is run by community for community on a 100% volunteer basis. Through community collaboration and partnerships we do our best to support the needs of our Urban Inuit community. Here are the profiles of some of our dedicated volunteers;
